Temecula, Calif., Feb. 1, 2012— The Galway Downs International Horse Trials will be held on March 29-April 1 at the Galway Downs Equestrian Center, just east of Temecula, Calif. The CIC3* will once again be the featured division, along with the CIC2* and CIC1*.

The horse inspection, conducted by the ground jury and the head veterinarian, will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29. Dressage will get underway at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, with show jumping starting at 1:00 p.m., culminating with the CIC3*.
The all-important cross-country phase, designed for the sixth year by British Olympic medalist Ian Stark, will run on Saturday, climaxing with the CIC3* field starting on course in reverse order of their two-phase standing. The awards ceremony and a catered dinner will follow at 6:00 p.m.
But the event won’t be completely finished, because on Sunday morning the preliminary, intermediate and advanced divisions will wrap up their weekend with show jumping, while the novice and training divisions will jump around their cross-country courses.
The international ground jury members will include Wayne Quarles of Kentucky and Helen Christie of New Zealand, with Roger Haller of Georgia serving as the technical delegate.
